Personalized Name Tags Your Guests Will Actually Keep
A few weeks ago I set up my stamping table at Red Bull's Hispanic Heritage party. Brass and silver tags, a pile of letter punches, and a line of people waiting to get a word hammered into metal.
Some people went with their name. A lot of people didn't. They wanted their nickname, their mom's name, a word in Spanish that meant something to them. My favorite was LATINA, and it was by far the most popular. I stamped at least 50 of them, brass, gothic font. By the end of the night I'd stamped 150 tags.
That's the part I care about. Most event swag ends up in a drawer or the trash. A tag with your name stamped into it goes on your keys and stays there.
Here's the thing about live stamping
I love doing on-site events. It's fun to watch people pick their word. But it has limits. Every tag is stamped by hand, one letter at a time, so there's always a line. Not every guest makes it to the table. And the people who do are standing around waiting instead of being at the party.
It's also just me. One person can only stamp so many tags in a night, so live events max out at 150 guests. Anything bigger than that, or tags personalized from a guest list, I make at home.
So here's what I'd actually rather do for your event: make them ahead of time, in my studio, and ship them to you.
Pre-made tags, shipped before your event
You send me a list of names. I stamp or engrave a tag for every person on it, pack them in order, and ship them so they're in your hands before the party. Nobody waits in line and nobody gets missed.
A few ways companies use them:
Place cards for seated dinners.
Tie a tag to each napkin or set it on the plate. Guests find their seat, then take their place card home on their keys.
Gift bags.
Drop a personalized tag into each bag. It's the one thing in there with their name on it.
Holiday gifts for your team. A brass keychain with someone's name or initials, on a ribbon or a solid brass clip. Small, useful, and it doesn't look like it came from a promo catalog.
Name tags that aren't stickers. Clip them onto a lanyard and guests keep them after.
