I'd seen personalized Zippos before, but when I came across a gold case for a regular Bic lighter with a name engraved in script handwriting and a butterfly above it, I thought that was the most gangster, baller, luxe thing I had ever seen. And since I'm a cigarette smoker, it was truly the cherry on top of the sundae for me.
Fast forward to now — every time I pull one of my engraved lighters out and someone notices it, it always starts a conversation. And a lot of the people who compliment them aren't even smokers. They just like having one on their coffee table to light candles.
I just fulfilled an order where the customer had "Go Sage Yourself" engraved, which I thought was super clever and fun. Most of the time people go with their name, but some choose quotes, Latin phrases, inside jokes — you can really have fun with it. Whether it's for yourself or as a gift, the options are endless.
For me personally, this will probably always be my favorite item I sell.
